EFD for Education – Engineering Fluid Dynamics from Flomerics
Based on 9 unique Key Technologies, EFD is a
fully-featured general purpose fluid flow and heat transfer analysis software that combines all the simulation steps,
including the CAD definition, fully automated meshing, through to post-processing in one single package.
EFD.Pro and EFD.V5 are available for use embedded
within existing installations of Pro/ENGINEER and CATIA V5 where these are the MCAD system of choice. EFD.Lab
provides a complete solution. As it incorporates a solid modeller it can read native CAD data from all major CAD systems such as Inventor,
Unigraphics NX, SolidEdge and SolidWorks. What’s more, there’s no limit on the size of the mesh, allowing mesh-independent results to be achieved.
We provide over 20 fully-documented validation cases with the software. These simple text book style examples
form a valuable supplement to any course curriculum. EFD can also be used for investigative projects that form part of a course curriculum.
Sophisticated physical models are provided to simulate a wide range of engineering tasks, from creeping
non-Newtonian flows to supersonic gas flows with high mach numbers.
